Radio Show – The SOS Show & Wave House Party
Music is the key and entertainment are the passion when it comes to Harii B. From an early age in both Community radio and Hospital
Radio, Harii has continued to push for an interactive yet fun atmosphere on his radio and DJ shows. Back in the early 80s at family parties Harii caught the bug of playing records for people to dance to and being able to set the tone via the right blend of music. For a 6year old it was something he was
passionate about. Fast forward to his first radio show on Hospital radio in 1994 at the ripe old age of 14 he picked the music and also got requests and message for his show from around Musgrove Hospital. This led to connections being made with local Community Radio stations in Bridgwater and Exeter. Whilst “honing” his DJ skills at private parties and building a reputation as the “go to 16-year-old DJ” for regional School discos this was fast becoming a passion of music and performing.
Shows on Riverside Radio (Bridgwater) including a weekly drivetime show and also regular slots on BCRfm (Bridgwater) would increase his versatility of a mix of music and also content. Being involved with both the production and background of RSL Radio stations were fun and he continued these
along with his DJ work. February 1998 was the year of passing the driving test and that’s when the DJ-ing went mobile. From nightclubs to weddings and spots at festivals including Glastonbury the music was the key and spinning the dance tunes was the passion. This led on to more nightclub work both over seas and also summer season work on a holiday camp both entertaining adults and families. All whilst being spotted as support talent for local Radio Stations Galaxy 101fm (Bristol) and Red Dragon (Cardiff) where Harii provided the mixed selection of house and dance music for the stations weekend shows.
In 2002 he was used by GWR as the stage DJ for the Balloon Fiesta in Bristol weaving the music and keeping the atmosphere in between big-name chart acts such as Atomic Kitten, Busted and Maroon 5 to name a few. It was in 2002 that Harii diversified his club and festival DJing to specify in both
House and Disco music gaining residences in bars across the southwest such as Brownstones (Bristol) where he would be the resident DJ alongside their big-name roster on their Thursday night Hed Kandi events. This would involve warming up for up and coming big name DJs such as Bob Sinclar,
Martin Solveig and an up and coming David Guetta. Marriage and a family life have calmed the craziness of DJ life to a degree but Harii still has a passion for entertaining holding residences at VII Bar in Weston where he produced the many outdoor events, they ran alongside T4 on the beach. Harii still travels the globe playing in California, Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Hamburg to name a few (he loves to travel). He is a champion for encouraging knowledge and education for DJ’s being involved in production and development stages at one point with Pioneer DJ.
Jumping forth to current form Harii is still busy playing music for all ages and can be heard both live in venues, festivals and at Private events (weddings etc) and more recently via Twitch.Tv and on Wave Community Radio. The passion is still there and fun never stops!
“I will do this as long as I can, I’m a DJ it’s what I love doing and is a hobby that as brought me both a family, great friends and great times” – Harii B
